Live Tracking via satellite

Already 2015 we installed a new live tracking system on our website to join us virtually on tour! The previous spot messangers were not that satisfying for the Southern Africa region thus switched over to inReach devices from Delorme which work much better here. They send tracking points every 10 minutes via Iridium satellite sytem and display the track on google maps. Even if not every position went through, you may see quite a representative track of every day’s stage. This additionally serves as back-up to show our current position in case of emergencies, and although we hope that it will never be needed for that kind of event, it is another positive side effect in respect of safety.
